Dear Palmer,
This is our first time to write, but certainly not the first we've thought of you or your family.

From experience, we know something of the journey you are on now. For many years our family struggled with the uncertainty of what loomed over the next hill. Happily, the outcome appears to be all we had longed to see. Today, those anxious times seem lost in the past and have grown rather dim. While the survival of our youngest seems sure at this point, and we are deeply grateful for that, the grand discovery in all of that experience has been how it has forever shaped our perspective, strengthened our resolve and firmly convinced us of the power of prayer and the goodness of our God.

Our doctors told us young girls fight harder than the boys (and they are much more pleasing to the eye!). You model courage for us each day and we admire you for that.

There is much in store for you, Palmer. You may never know the number of lives you will touch.
